Vir is one of the 300 islands and islets of the Zadar archipelag, also one of 1186 islands of the Adriatic Sea. The island is located in the north-west area of Dalmatia. He is the twentieth biggest croatian island. The size is 22,38 km, the length is 10,12 km and the biggest bandwith, almost 4,25 km. Coastguard line is 31,34 km.
The number of sunny hours is yearly 2450, almost 300 sunny days. Average temperature on the island is a little bit more than 15 ˙C, medial temperature in july is almoust 25 ˙C. The beach is mixed with boulder and concrete, with a crystal pure sea.

Because of the ideal placement on the Adriatic Sea Vir is a suitable place for excursion, e.g. in the National Park Paklenica, Kornati islands with 200 islands and islets, Krka Falls and the Plitvica Seas.
